Make Your Presence Felt
If you follow all things green (and I'm not talking about Shrek or Hulk, here… I'm clearly referring to eco-friendly fashions), then you might recall that, last summer, the 32-year-old German organic line Hessnatur debuted stateside with designer Miguel Adrover creating an astounding capsule collection. The Hessnatur line, for the most part, consists of simple wardrobe basics: knee-length skirts, cardigans, trousers and button-down shirts in organic cotton, untreated Alpaca wool, and undyed silk or cashmere.
Now, I won't lie — some of the pieces do have a very Talbot's catalog feel to them, which isn't exactly a compliment). But Hessnatur's capsule collection livens up the entire line with its fashion-forward designs. The coats he created are particularly stunning; standouts include a knee-length hooded lambskin coat with unfinished edges that create a DIY feel and a luxurious lambskin vest with layers of ruffled rib knit and long-haired fur (the latter is simply to die for!).
But don't get me wrong: there are some great pieces outside the Miguel Adrover for Hessnatur capsule collection. Just check out this gorgeous Felted Handbag , made from 100% Australian wool and devoid of any bleaches, dyes or other environmentally harmful chemicals. The sleek silhouette — from the curved sides to the front pocket with the bold clasp detail — makes this an excellent everyday bag, perfect for both working gals and ladies who lunch.
