From the moment we're born, we're drawn to sparkling, shiny objects (hence, why we hang mirrors on mobiles for baby cribs or on jungle gyms). As kids, we marvel over fireworks, tinsel, Christmas lights, neon signs, starry nights, and glitter (remember how your mom used to yell at you over the messes you'd make with glitter? ha!). As adults, we maintain this same love for anything with a bit of sheen and luster — we dab on some lip gloss to add sparkle to our lips, polish our metal jewelry to keep it from looking tarnished, rub a bit of shine serum on our tresses, fantasize about diamond and platinum jewelry… Flash, sparkle, shine — we love it all.
Which brings me to Global Goddess's new Goddess Lights Parisian Nights face and body powder. This odorless, talc-based powder adds a luminous sparkle to your skin. Just twist the lovely cap off (which bears a pretty golden design inspired that reminds me of Indian body art), reach for the powder puff, and dab some powder onto your cheeks, legs, arms, or neckline. The powder isn't so dense that you'll look like a raver girl who doused herself in glitter — the amount of sparkle is actually pretty moderate, creating a more subtle but still luminous effect.
Personally, I'm not big on adding shimmer to my face (maybe I'll toy around with shimmering liners or mascaras, but that's about as far as I'll take it), mostly because I feel like I outgrew that phase, but I love how the powder looks on my arms, legs and — most of all — on my decolletage (as if men need another reason to stare at our chests, right?!).
Check it out for yourself. It's a nice pick-me-up for these drab, wintry days!
