Pucker Up, Buttercup: Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Lip Color

BrightsCreamyLipColor

I usually roll my eyes when I hear cosmetics brands refer to their lipsticks as "creamy" because, 9 times out of 10, these products lack a soothing, no-fuss texture. Some times, they're so hard and densely packed that getting them to shed any of their color seems like a daunting task (I'm sure you've had a few lipsticks that fit the category, where you're practically attacking your mouth just to swipe on some rouge). Other times, the color glides on but then quickly fades, drying up your lips in the process and leaving you with fishscale mouth (gross!). In some instances, the lipstick may be so sticky that, when you press your lips together, you feel like your mouth has been superglued. Bottom line: until recently, most cosmetics companies focused on delivering wearable sticks of color and not on their actual consistency, texture, or moisturizing qualities. Fortunately, as consumers become increasingly concerned with the ingredients in their must-have beauty items and place a greater emphasis on the beautification process as opposed tot he end result, manufacturers and designers have followed suit.

Ever the innovator in the field of cosmetics, Bobbi Brown has been keeping her customers satisfied for quite some time, particularly since she introduced her Creamy Lip Color collection, which includes lipsticks so silky smooth that they'll glide on without the least bit of friction and will leave your pout looking voluptuous and alluring. For Spring 2009, she introduced four dazzling new colors to her Creamy Lip Color: Retro Pink, Rose Brown, Coral Pink and Pale Mauve (pictured above). The four colors are meant to complement her Bobbi Brights Palette, a magnificent kit that packs 35 matte eyeshadows in electrifying floral, oceanic, and candy colors.

My absolute favorite is the Retro Pink. Sure, it may look a little bit too Anna-Faris-in-House-Bunny at first, but once on your lips, you'll see it's actually a rather soft, natural and feminine shimmer.
