Chloe Lisy Purse Spray
Fragrance houses finally understand that, while most women love to carry around teeny tiny purses, they still want to pack all of their girly essentials into that miniature accessory (and for us, that means more than keys and a wallet, ok?!). Chloé's Parfum has always been among my favorites, and the Lisy purse spray stays true to the original fragrance but is just a bit subtler and more feminine. Though the Chloé Parfum features a rose heart, it also includes lily of the valley, freesia, magnolia and peony notes for a bouquet-like feel that, when set against the amber base, manages to be both pretty and exotic. Here, the rose note is way more present, as perfumers Michel Almairac and Armandine Marie toiled to expertly distill every aspect of the scent, including the powdery interior. Even when mixed with the pink peppercorn, creamy sandalwood and tonka bean notes, Chloé Lisy is a more romantic, softer scent with less of an earthy or spicy vibe.
Aesthetically, the Chloé Lisy purse spray pays homage to, while updating, the traditional Chloé Eau de Parfum bottle — the pleated glass bottle gives way to smooth glass; and the bottle's chunky, square shape is elongated and thinned; and the hint of color we got from the bow detail tied around the atomizer we now obtain from the accompanying leather case, meant to keep your bottle safe inside that messy purse of yours.
The leather case, available in a pretty tan/blush hue, features a snap closure at the top. The box's design was inspured by an art deco box Chloe Creative Director Hannah MacGibbon unearthed in London. Every year, when the purse spray is re-released ,the leather case will be reinvented and given a new color that captures the spirit and energy of that particular time.
This is officially on my list of things that must fit in my purse, along with my phone, wallet, lipgloss and what's that other thing? Oh yeah, my keys!
