Framed!: John Varvatos V731 Shades
Spring is around the corner, and the sun is starting to shine a bit brighter (thankfully!), so you know what that means: it's time to re-up on your sunglasses game! (I bet you all thought I was going to mention swimsuits but I'm too frightened by the thought to even get into the subject of bikinis right now!). Now, if you gravitate toward larger frames that provide more coverage and give you that Hollywood-star-going-incognito look, you'll appreciate these simple but sleek frames by John Varvatos.
The John Varvatos V731 frames pictured above are a nice, hefty size (without drooping all the way down to your dimples!). The silhouette seems to be inspired by the classic aviator frame, but it updates that look through the usage of more angular, polished cuts (notice the sharp lines around the lens area), yielding a more rocker-ready look that borrows from the past while still looking to the future. The frames are available in black/horn (pictured above), as well as tortoise/horn and amber/lime.
Actress Jaime King rocked them at the John Varvatos 7th Annual Stuart House Benefit, which raised funds for Stuart House, a nationally recognized program affiliated with the Rape Treatment Center at the Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center (other celebrities in attendance included Gina Gershon, Shannen Doherty, Eric Dane,Lisa Rinna, and Justin Chambers). They're the type of frames you'd expect a young Hollywood starlet to wear, so it's only natural that King (who, as a successful fashion designer, has a discerning eye for style) would be drawn to them.
