Killer Style for Under $100: Banana Republic’s Garden Statement Necklace
It's hard on the boulevard, so a few of you have written in requesting that I cover more items in the "under $100" category — and, since your wishes are my command, I'm introduce a weekly column about stylish goodies with price tags in the double-digit (not triple-digit) range. To kick it off, check out this gorgeous Garden Statement necklace from Banana Republic, which retails for $98.
I'm feelin' a lot of necklaces from Banana Republic's new collection (and I'm loving that the beautiful and uber talented Brazilian jazz musician Esperanza Spalding was tapped to appear in BR's Spring 2009 "City Stories" ad campaign, alongside rock outfit OK GO, the lovely pianist and singer Sara Bareilles, Afro-German singer/songwriter Ayo and more). But this hefty, gold-plated necklace, with its chunky blossoms and butterfly motifs, makes me want to throw my own garden party (of course, that would require having a garden… Don't you just hate those technicalities? lol).
The necklace measures 17 3/4" long and is meant to be worn close to the neck. Of course, it's quite the statement piece, so you'd be wise to pair with a simple shift dress or a sheath blouse in either a classic black, white or khaki, or a muted pink or lavender.
See how great you can look without spending more than one Benjie?
