Hot Cacao: Ojon Tawaka Cleanser and Conditioner
Normally speaking, when a shower gel, body scrub, or hair product contains cacao, I raise an eyebrow suspiciously — not because I’m skeptical about the benefits of this ingredient (by now, any beauty hound should be up to speed on the antioxidants packed in cacao beans), but because I dread the idea of smelling like some fudge sundae or fresh-out-the-oven brownie.
But the Tawaka cacao from which Ojon’s latest cleanser and conditioner derive their names is utilized in such a way as to titillate the senses, not overwhelm them with nauseatingly saccharine fragrance notes. When combined with other ingredients such as passion flower (which is rife with vitamin C, calcium, and fatty acids that nourish and replenish moisture to dry or damaged hair and skin) and Ojon oil (the common ingredient in all of the brand’s products), the antioxidant-rich Tawaka cacao finds harmony. And not only in olfactory matters (the cleanser has this delicious woodsy scent to it, while the conditioner has a slightly sweeter edge), but also in terms of its own hydrating, healing properties (after all, you’re only as good as your team, right?). Thanks to this Tawaka cacao, the full-sized bottle of Ojon’s Tawaka Cleanser contains as many antioxidants as 125 lbs. of blueberries (take that!)
Ojon’s Tawaka Cleanser, which can be utilized as a shower gel or shampoo, lathers up quickly and leaves the skin and hair feeling silky soft (I particularly love using it as a shower gel since it makes my skin with a healthy glow and a smooth touch. The Tawaka Conditioner, meanwhile, literally feels like an indulgent dessert for your frazzled mane, especially given the chocolate mousse-like color and consistency. Use both these products for a full week or two, and you’ll start noticing the results: how your hair bounces a bit more, the ease with which you can just run your fingers through your mane, and the added spring of each individual lock… Now that’s the kind of cacao treat I can go for!
