If you're not up on GiltGroupe.com, shame on you. The beloved sample sale site features exclusive, limited-time-only sales on men's and women's apparel, accessories, footwear and home decor items, with brands ranging from Oscar de La Renta to Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, Catherine Malandrino, Alex & Ani, Sergio Rossi, 7 for all Mankind, Tracy Reese, Furla, Felix Rey, and many more. Sample sales always start at noon EST on a designated date and you have to act quicker than the Nestle Quik rabbit 'cause you better believe goods will sell out in a matter of minutes (I've literally logged on at 12:05 multiple times only to discover, to my dismay, that other members had already snagged some of the goods I'd been coveting). Now, I barely ever get a chance to blog about existing Gilt sales (since, as I'd mentioned, items do sell out rapidly) BUT, every so often, there will be some treasures on there that remain undiscovered for a substantial amount of time — and when that happens, I of course make it my business to let y'all know about it.
Which brings me to their fantastic Kidrobot sale, which ends at midnight tonight. Though most of the items on sale are men's hoodies and tees, there is one great toy in there — the Paul Pope x Playboy figure pictured above. Though it normally retails for $60, now's your chance to get it for only $28 (great deal, right?). The toy was designed by comic book illustrator Paul Pope and pays tribute to the blond vixen who appeared on Playboy's November 1978 cover. Just as in the magazine cover, the figure captures a woman with feathered blond hair wearing thigh-high boots, white panties and a white sweater with the neck pulled up to conceal her mouth and most of her nose. It's sexy without being raunchy, and there's something real badass about Pope's interpretation (like, I can see this being a character similar to The Bride in Kill Bill). Get it before it ends up in someone else's shopping cart!
