Going Gray — Sally Hansen HD Hi-Definition Nail Color in Opulent Cloud
For her Fall 2009 collection, fashion designer Tracy Reese went for a schoolgirl-meets-flapper-girl vibe, with such looks walking down the runway as tailored blazers paired with short, ruffled skirts and sleeveless silk tunic dresses worn with knee-high stockings, long beaded necklaces and knit caps. To match the “brainy chic” look Reese created, Sally Hansen designed a shimmering gray polish: Opulent Cloud.
When it was first spotted on models’ hands, the nail lacquer made beauty lovers swoon— but, of course, since New York Fashion Week always showcases future collections and beauty trends, the smitten lacquer enthusiasts had to wait until fall to actually purchase it. Now, after months of anticipation, everyone can go gray with this unique polish.
Gray polish is a huge trend for Fall 2009 but Opulent Cloud stood out among the shades I’ve tried. It’s not quite a silver color, but it’s also not a matte gray. This polish features brown, gold and bronze speckles, which really gives the shade a nice kick. Check out the pic below for a better idea of the what the color looks like on nails.
Sally Hansen HD Hi-Definition Nail Color in Opulent Cloud, $6.49. Available at mass food and drug retailers.
