I can't think of a single show that has enjoyed the type of longevity and touched as many generations of children as Sesame Street. I remember growing up singing "C is for cookie, that's good enough for me" and "Rubber duckie, where are you?" Many years later, when my son hit age 2 and started appreciating the genius of Sesame Street, I got to rock out with Elmo (who does a mean "Hammer time" move when he performs his "Five Jive" song) without any embarrassment (hey, it was part of my mommy duty!). The bottom line is we've all been touched by the characters on the show — even Rosie O'Donnell had a soft spot for Elmo, who frequently visited her on the Rosie O'Donnell Show. Granted: back then, she claimed to be enamored with Tom Cruise, but I do believe that, out of the two loves, it was the one for Elmo that was real and true.
In celebration of the show's 40th anniversary, then, American Apparel collaborated with Mighty Fine (who make some of the most adorable character-driven tees out there) to create a series of unisex tees featuring the beloved Sesame Street characters.
Each 100% jersey cotton T-shirt features original sketches from the show, with designs like the "Sunshine Big Bird" (pictured at top), a yellow tee featuring a sketch of Big Bird wearing an Elmo T-shirt, with a pair of shades atop his head, an aviator-like scarf around his neck and a bowler bag in his hand, and "White Group Shot" (pictured second from top), which features all of the show's characters – from Oscar the Grouch to Bert, Ernie, Grover, Snuffy and Rosita. My absolute favorite is the "Cookie Monster" tee — but then, I've always favored that greedy little guy (to the point where I nicknamed my son "Cookie Monster" as a baby and people still refer to him as "Cook" and "Cookie as a result!).
So celebrate your inner child and let American Apparel and Mighty Fine tell you how to get to Sesame Street!

Very nice t-shirt, I really like that simple design, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that.
