Do you spend hours scouring through Etsy, searching for the hottest artisans and shopping for lovingly made wares ranging from beaded necklaces to nifty journals, cozy blanket, flapper-esque headbands, embroidered scarves, expertly sculpted vases, hand-painted plates, and handmade soaps and lotions? Then you won't want to miss the Holiday Handmade Cavalcade, taking place Dec. 5th from 11 am to 8 pm at NYC's Openhouse Gallery (201 Mulberry Street).
The shopping event will unite 50 artisans, designers and jewelers from the New York metro area, many of whom have established dedicated fan bases on Etsy.com and on their own online stores. Among the vendors you'll find: Journalistic Tendencies, the company behind the black-and-white floral journal pictured second from top; Better Than Jam, who made the cotton/lycra sateen navy turtleneck dress pictured below; and Alexandra Ferguson, who designs witty pillows made of 100% post consumer recycled felt (such as the "Let's Make Out" pillow pictured at top). To discover these treasures and many more, traipse down to Mulberry Street on Saturday.
