The Scoop On Emily Blunt’s Golden Globes Hair
Though her dress didn’t rank among the evening’s best for me, Emily Blunt did look fetching at the Golden Globe Awards last night in her figure-hugging, petal pink gown, with its elegant draping and slightly unfinished seam edges. The soft, romantic feel of the tulle and chiffon Dolce & Gabbana dress was emphasized by Blunt’s choice of hairstyle: soft, slightly messy waves.
To create the look, celebrity hairstylist Laini Reeves cut Blunt’s hair to shoulder length and applied Living Proof’s No Frizz, Wave Shaping Cream For Medium to Thick Hair onto her wet tresses. She the applied Living Proof Full to imbue the hair with some body and created pin curls by wrapping each section of Blunt’s hair around her fingers, pinning each curled piece to her head.To create a more natural, free-spirited look, Reeves alternated between clockwise and counterclockwise when curling each section of hair. Reeves then allowed the hair to air dry. Once dry, she used both a medium barrel curling iron and a small barrel curling iron to lightly accentuate each curl. Lastly, she softened the look even more by flat ironing the bottom inch of the hair, hence reducing the volume at the ends and creating a very subtle, feminine look.
This is the type of look you can easily try at home so, if you’re looking to experiment with a new style, follow Reeves’ steps and get Blunt-ed.
