A Sneak Peek At Ports 1961’s Fall/Winter 2010 Collection
We’re just two days away from the official kick-off to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City, and designers are building up the intrigue surrounding their shows by giving us just a taste of what we’ll be seeing at the Bryant Park tents. Yesterday, I showed you sketches from Tracy Reese, Rebecca Taylor, Milly, G-Star and Elie Tahari, and today, I’m sharing this newly released preview sketch from Ports 1961.
As you can see from the sketch above, there’s a Sherlock Holmes-y feel to the ensemble (the jacket seems to have a capelet-like cut along the front). Also, there’s a slightly androgynous quality to the look — from the muted color palette to the gentlemanly details of the blouse and the choice of Oxford shoes to finish the ensemble. Of course, we’ll have to wait until Thursday, Feb. 11th, when the collection is unveiled at Bryant Park, to note all the dominant looks and trends, but here’s a hint from Ports 1961 designer Tia Cibani, who says, “My collection is inspired by the relationship between discovery and invention.” Hmmm… My curiosity is officially piqued!
