Skullcandy x Roc Nation Aviator Headphones — Let The Music Make You High
Think about all the songs that incorporate some version of the phrase "turn the music up" — heck, Brandy, Ciara, Ashanti, and Chamillionaire all have songs subbed "Turn It Up" (and that's just in recent years!). Heck, if there's something Kool Herc taught us it's that there's no party without some great speakers. And nowadays, when technology has allowed us to carry a wealth of music right in our iPods, a good set of headphone speakers can make you feel like you're kicking off a block party for one. Enter Skullcandy — not only are their headphones top-notch, but they're unmatched in terms of their style quotient (I steadily get compliments on my Rasta-print GI headphones, which I've had for about 3 years now).
Merging top-notch audio quality with visionary style and an urban sensibility, Skullcandy joined forces with Jay-Z's Roc Nation, the music and entertainment company he founded via Live Nation in 2008 to create a co-branded line of headphones. The first installment in the multi-year initiative is the Skullcandy x Roc Nation "Aviator" headphones (pictured above). The headphones were inspired by aviator shades, so that the polycarbonate headphone cups feature a lens-like sheen (it's particularly notable in the brown colorway pictured at top). The speakers also feature a 40mm full-range enhanced audio driver, a spring hinge so that you can fold the speakers and easily carry them around or store them, comfy memory foam ear pillows, and an in-line music and mic control.
