Be A Broadway-Loving Belle In A “Memphis” Tee By Obvious Clothing
If you’re a theater buff or a singer who, like April Rhodes in “Glee” (Kristen Chenoweth’s buzzy guest character), dreams of starring in a Broadway show, then you’ve probably heard of Memphis, the musical by David Bryan and Joe DiPietro that explores the segregated music scene in 1950s-era Memphis, Tennessee, through the lens of an interracial love story. In less than a year (the show opened in October 2008), Memphis has riveted audiences and critics alike — in fact, it received 8 Tony nominations including “Best Musical” and a “Best Actress” nod for leading lady Montego Glover and a “Best Actor” nomination for co-star Chad Kimball.
But did you know that Kimball is also a fashion guru and entrepreneur? Yes, the Tony-nominated actor co-founded Obvious Clothing with his brother Todd in 2006, and the line has grown to incorporate Lolly Cashmere, a range of cashmere tops, sweaters and dresses with cool graphic designs.
In celebration of Kimball’s Tony nomination, Obvious Clothing released these two limited-edition tees, which feature the image of Kimball and Glover used in the Memphis poster. Part of the proceeds from the sale of these tees will benefit Vh1 Save The Music.
