Gimme Some Sugar! New Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 Makes Mouths Happy

I’ve tested practically every lip balm under the sun (check out the “Kiss and Tell” story for my top picks), and none has quite matched the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in terms of both immediate soothing gratification and long-lasting hydration. Though I’m pretty devoted to the colorless, classic lip balm, I sometimes reach for the Fresh Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 on low-maintenance makeup days, when I eschew heavier lipsticks for just a hint of rosy color on my pout. And now, when I want a slightly deeper lip stain effect, I can opt for the new  Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15, which delivers a sheer hint of amber-y plum to lips.

As with the previous Fresh lip treatments, the Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment’s formula is centered on sugar, a natural humectant that both hydrates lips and seals in moisture for longer-lasting relief. Other ingredients include conditioning avocado oil and meadowfoam seed oil, naturally plumping blackcurrant oil, softening beeswax, moisture-locking carnauba wax, and antioxidant-rich grapeseed polyphenols and vitamins A, C and E.

Though the Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 looks like a very deep, dark cherry color in its concentrated stick form, once you glide it on, you’ll notice how sheer the hue is, how it translates into a mauve-ish, dewy veil against the skin. In fact, though the Fresh Sugar Plum Lip Treatment offers a deeper, more mysterious and mature hue than the Fresh Sugar Rosé Lip Treatment, it’s not as concentrated in terms of pigment, which means you need to build it up gradually to get as intense a color (and even then, it’ll be extremely sheer). The photos below illustrate how the tinted lip balm looks on lips, as well as how the hue looks next to its rosier counterpart.
