Illamasqua Pastel Nails — Four Groovy, Creamy Lacquers
Though Easter-ready pastel nail colors tend to be associated with the milder weather and nascent floral buds of the spring season, Illamasqua‘s Pastel Nails collection captures the bright, whimsical, retro palette used to paint the Art Deco buildings along Miami Beach dating back to 1925-1945, making these shades ideal for summer.
The collection consists of four lacquers: Blow, a perky yellow reminiscent of what you’d find in a child’s candy necklace; Caress, a powder blue color that might remind you of baby boy basinette linens; Wink, a cheeky purple lilac similar to the shade used in the Miami Vice logo; and Nudge, a slightly minty, light seafoam green that might remind you of 1950s telephones, plates, and housewares.
The colors were introduced in Sephora stories in late May and sold out several times, so I only recently got my antsy little hands on them but it was well worth the wait. The colors manage to be festive but sophisticated (not an easy feat when developing pastel lacquer hues), and they boast a creamy, milky finish.
Pictured below, you’ll find images of the Nudge, Wink and Caress polishes. Enjoy!
