New Adidas Originals Hillsdale Colorways Play Up The Empire State
Though the name “Hillsdale” alludes to a borough in New Jersey, in the Adidas Originals universe, it references an iconic hi-top sneaker style. While the Hillsdale’s silhouette draws inspiration from vintage basketball kicks, its design details are anything but dated. Patent leather touches add a hint of flashiness to leather uppers, tiny perforations add breathability, and an oversize tongue provides a dose of hip-hop bravado.
Three new colorways, alluding to the vivid shades found on New York City’s streets, are being released this month: Black/Metallic Gold, White/Collegiate Royal and Aluminum/Macaw. My favorite: the Aluminum/Macaw (pictured at top), a Kanye West- and Amber Rose-ready pair of gray and neon green kicks that could have “Flashing Lights” as its very own soundtrack.
The kicks are available in men’s sizes only, so those of us with tiny feet will be left in the dark. So those of you who can wear men’s sneaker sizes better do these justice, you heard?
