Cash And Carry — New Skullcandy Dream Team Skate Backpacks
It’s difficult to don high-quality headphones without looking like Noodle from The Gorillaz, but for years now, Skullcandy has been enabing urban style hounds to accomplish precisely this feat with its bold designs, which include military motifs, Rasta color schemes, neon plaids, and paisley prints. Fans of Skullcandy’s skater-meets-hip-hop aesthetic will rejoice over the launch of the brand’s expansion into soft goods territory for Fall 2010, with graphic tees, hoodies, hats, socks, belts and backpacks that feature flashy, stencil-like fonts, skull designs, spiderweb and shattered glass patterns, graffiti-influenced lettering, and brazen color juxtapositions.
Though it’s mostly the boys having fun with Skullcandy’s debut apparel and accessories collection, the ladies do get a piece of the action thanks to a few funky unisex backpack designs, such as the Dream Team Skate bags pictured above. The Dream Team Skate backpacks measure 18″ x 11″ x 6″ and feature mutiple pockets and compartments: from the main compartment, which features pencil holders, a key clip, a flap-top velcro pouch pocket, and a zippered pocket for loose change, keys, and other vital items; to side utility pockets for small gadgets; and a top zip media pocket. Other features include: a top padded handle for easy toting; contoured, adjustable shoulder straps; two buckled nylon straps emblazoned with the company logo along the front to streamline and tighten the backpack’s silhouette; and fleece pocket linings that help to protect delicate electronic devices.
From a style perspective, customers can choose from three contrasting color schemes: there’s a shiny, satin-like black with bright turquoise piping and zippers; a snowy white with kiwi green detailing; and a miliatry-inspired olvie green with a faded black typography and canary yellow nylon straps along the front.
Even if you’re way past your days as a student, you have to appreciate a sturdy, street-ready backpack for those instances when you’re literally carrying a bit of a load.
