Go For A Park Avenue Princess Look With Milly’s New Collection of Sunglasses
The Milly by Michelle Smith brand has become synonymous with Upper East Side chic, with ultra feminine designs that capture the prim, socialite-ready aesthetic of Breakfast in Tiffany‘s while stirring in references to Victorian era Paris, Palm Beach in the late ’70s, and luxurious travel destinations like Monte Carlo and St. Tropez. Milly’s simple-but-glamorous apparel and jewelry captures the classy, preppy but playful energy of most Park Avenue style hounds (think Charlotte York) — and, now, these aesthetic values are being channeled through her newly launched line of sunglasses.
The Spring/Summer 2010 sunglasses collection consists of four chic styles, all boasting acetate frames. Pictured first below, you’ll find the “Alison” sunglasses, which feature rectangular-shaped lenses, a safari-inspired, tortoise shell print, and thick arms with gold bar details at the temples. Next, you’ll find the “Leanne” sunglasses, a Holly Golightly-ready pair of black acetate frames with octagonal-shaped lenses and square lenses with rounded edges, an amber-and-caramel, faux wood print all over the frame, and arms that feature a diamond-like cut along the temples and slim out as they move outwards.
At about $150 each, they’re a reasonably priced conduit to achieve a whimsical, upper Manhattan, ladies-who-lunch style.
Milly “Alison” Sunglasses, $160; Milly “Leanne” Sunglasses, $160; and Milly “Jessica” Sunglasses, $150. All available at MillyNY.com
