This season, fashion and jewelry designers are functioning as tour guides, leading us through a journey spanning the entire globe. First stop: a safari through Kenya and Tanzania. To reference the wild, exotic animals in these destinations, they've offered us an array of booties, blazers, dresses, scarves, hats and cuffs with zebra stripes, cheetah and leopard spots, and panther silhouettes.
Next, they're guiding us through Ghana, threading colorful glass beads like those found in Odumase Krabe through metal chains to create stunning statement necklaces and hand-sewing them onto purses, belts, and hemlines. Our final destination in Africa: Egypt, where we'll experience the grandness of the pyramids and reference ancient hieroglyphics via elaborate trangular shapes.
