New Lela Rose For Payless Footwear Styles Unveiled At Her Spring 2011 Show
One of the first luxury designers to join the Payless stable, Lela Rose has made it her mission to design affordable but elegant shoes that convey her brand’s classic and timeless feel. Over the last few years, that’s meant round-toe pumps with checkered tweed uppers, peep-toe sandals with horizontal navy and cream stripes resembling overlapping grosgrain ribbons, suede ankle boots with tiny perforations across the front, and even the “Unforgettable Moments” collection, a range of blank satin shoe styles that can be custom-dyed in any of the 64 colors hand-picked by Rose.
In keeping with the exuberant feel of her Spring 2011 collection — which included bold yellow, orange and pink colors, as well as floral and painterly prints inspired by the architectural landmarks and prevailing fashion norms in both Peruvian and Brazilian cultures — the new footwear styles debuted at Rose’s show exuded a playful but ladylike vibe.
Pictured above are two of the footwear styles shown: an orange canvas T-strap sandal with four horizontal strips along the toe area and a printed wedge heel; and an olive green canvas wedge sandal with groovy rounded cut-outs, a chestnut brown leather ankle strap, leather piping along the edges of the cut-out shapes, a chic peep toe, and a stacked wooden heel.
We don’t yet know whether these styles will be produced so that they completely mirror the styles pictured here, but chances are, the final footwear styles will be just as cute — not to mention, they’ll come with Payless-appropriate price tags!
