Lanvin Hearts H&M Collection — And We Heart Lanvin!
No H&M designer collaboration has garnered this much buzz since Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld first teamed up with the brand years ago. Come November 20th, when the Lanvin Hearts H&M collection launches, expect to see lines so long outside H&M stores, you’d think they were giving away the apparel. But while the mere mention of Lanvin‘s partnership with H&M had fashion hounds in heat, no one had seen the objects of their lustful impulses — until this week, when H&M finally released images of the full collection.
Pictured here, you’ll find some of the pieces in the Lanvin Hearts H&M collection, which ranges from draped, one-shoulder dresses to black tuxedo jackets with embellished buttons; faux fur, trench-style coats with military-style buttons; embellished graphic tees with coquettish designs( like a pair of legs in fishnet tights and platform pumps); and a tulle dress with a fitted bodice and a full, ballerina-style skirt.
Some of the pieces are reminiscent of show-stopping Lanvin garments from past collections. A fitted dress in a blackened blue color and a silk-like fabric, for example, incorporates large, wave-like ruffles into its sleeves, practically replicating one of the dresses showcased at the French design house’s Spring 2008 runway show (see the dress above, fourth from top). A short, draped black dress, meanwhile, recalls the graceful ease of the must-have Grecian-inspired Spring 2010 dress (which Jennifer Lopez wore on the red carpet). White and black skirts with cascading ruffles along one side and jaunty leopard print trenches (pictured third, below), wristlets (shown fourth, below), and pumps reference the brand’s Spring 2009 collection.
In essence then, if you’ve been following Lanvin for some time now and have been salivating over some of the brand’s ready-to-wear pieces, you’re going to find yourself in seventh heaven with this collection. Bottom line: there’s so much buzz surrounding this line, you’ll have to be a killer bee to get your hands on these pieces!
