Emma Stone’s Modern Platinum Blonde Bun At The 2011 Golden Globe Awards

Although we’ve come to know her as a quirky redhead thanks to roles in Superbad and Easy A, funny girl Emma Stone is, in actuality, a natural blonde — a fact she let us in on while gracing the red carpet last night at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards. Stone’s platinum blonde hair complemented the sunny, cheerful nature of her peach-colored Calvin Klein dress, one of the evening’s best ensembles.

An ode to minimalism, Stone’s floor-length Calvin Klein dress illustrated how stunning simplicity can be — from its crewneck collar to its snug short sleeves, seamless bodice, body-hugging fit, and understated train, the gown outshone most of the evening’s embroidered, intricately beaded, ruffled, tiered, attention-seeking pieces. In keeping with the gown’s emphasis on structure and modernity, Stone’s hair was gathered into a sleek bun by TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist Mara Roszak.

To create the look, Roszak began by applying TRESemmé Fresh Start No Frizz Créme, which keeps humidity at bay and polishes the hair cuticle, to Stone’s damp hair, then blow-dried her mane with a round barrel brush, using smooth strokes to lift hair away from the face. For added volume, Roszak teased the hair at the crown, spraying TRESemmé 24 Hour Root Boost Spray at the roots. Next, she smoothed the hair, without compromising the increased volume at the crown, working the hair backwards and tying it into a ponytail.

Once the hair was in a ponytail, Roszak divided it in half, twisting the halves around each other. Next, while holding the end of the twisted pony, she worked the hair into a bun, using bobby pins to position hair. Last, she spritzed the TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray all over Stone’s head to ensure the look would last through the evening.

The end result: a look that’s an easy A.
