Cesare Paciotti Denim Strappy Pumps Are Jean-ius!
When Brazilian stunner Adriana Lima trotted into the Victoria Secret Swim Luncheon in Los Angeles on March 30th, all eyes probably drifted to the very ends of her long, toned stems. To give her flowing, Grecian-inspired, cream-colored, knee-length dress a contemporary and modern sensibility, La Lima paired the ensemble with the Cesare Paciotti pumps pictured above.
Featuring dark indigo-colored denim uppers, the Cesare Paciotti Denim Strappy Pumps reinvent the jean fabric, known for its durability and extensive history among American workers, infusing it with a modern sense of elegance without sacrificing its toughness. The pumps feature a hidden platform, a denim-covered heel, and both an open toe and rounded cut-outs accented with cream leather piping at their edges. Along the sides, the cut-outs resemble the rounded peaks on a graphical representation, with a wider base that slims as it moves up to the apex. The main cut-out along the vamp, meanwhile, resembles an upside-down heart shape, with bulbous, teardrop-like curves aong each side, right above the toe area. A slim buckle strap at the base of the ankle completes the design, nodding to the functionality associated with denim.
These street-smart pumps speak to this season’s fascination with denim. For Spring 2011, fashion, handbag, and footwear designers are once again looking to glamorize the material that was once associated with farmer garb, shunning leather, suede, croc, and other luxurious and exotic skins in favor of this proletariat favorite.
Next time someone tells you wearing jeans isn’t appropriate for a particular dress code, show them these shoes and watch how quickly they reconsider.
