A Strong Foundation — Ready to Wear Longevity Anti-Aging Foundation
After a handful of seasons leading the MAC Cosmetics team backstage at the Alexandre Herchcovitch shows during New York Fashion week, makeup artist Philippe Chansel has risen to beauty demigod status in my mind. Every season, he blows me away with the out-of-the-box makeup looks he envisions for Herchcovitch’s shows. So, of course, I had to try some of the products in his Ready To Wear makeup line for HSN.
During an HSN beauty event earlier this summer, I chatted with Chansel and he spoke of one of the most popular offerings in his line: the Ready To Wear Longevity Anti Aging Foundation ($24.50 at HSN.com). When developing this foundation’s formula, Chansel wanted to create something that felt creamy but ultra light, offering more coverage than a tinted moisturizer but boasting the same level of comfort. To bring home his point, he applied a pea-sized amount to the back of my hand and I watched in awe when I realized that it looked like I had absolutely nothing on my skin, as if somehow this one patch of skin had reached perfection on its very own. Any lines, puckering, and redness were visibly reduced, as was the look of any enlarged pores, thanks to the formula’s anti-aging ingredients.
I knew at that moment that I had to take the foundation for a real test run. Not surprisingly, Chansel developed a heavenly product. Enriched with vitamins A and E, the Ready to Wear Longevity Anti-Aging Foundation conditions skin and protects it from free radicals, while its signature Kalpariane formula keeps skin moisturized and refines its texture for tighter, more radiant, younger-looking skin.
Not only is the foundation light and airy, but it never smears, cracks, or cakes up, and it manages to avoid looking overly makeup-y, giving it all the more longevity in my makeup stash (and hopefully yours!).
