I’ve raved endlessly about the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips, which come in a plethora of colors, designs, and finishes, and which can be smoothed onto the nail for a sleek Minx-like finish. And I haven’t kept my fascination private —  for months, I’ve been spreading the Salon Effects gospel, eagerly educating all the women who flatter my manicures and encouraging them to give these easy-to-use adhesive strips a whirl.

As a die-hard fan of these stick-on strips, I’m always on the hunt for new designs to flaunt with the rock-flashing zest of a newly engaged socialite. I’ve tried the Wild Child, Girl Flower, Bling It On, Booty Camp, Kitty Kitty, Check It Out, Frock Star, Cut It Out, Violet Night, and the list goes on. Truth be told, I wait for new designs with the bated breath you’d expect from someone on a new iPhone watch.

Since Halloween is less than three weeks away, Sally Hansen has introduced a new limited-edition collection of spook-tacular designs, each available for $9.99 at national drugstores. The five designs in the collection are: Numbskull, which features a black skull and crossbones pattern against a white backdrop; Ghoulie Girl, which features rows of Pacman-esque ghost creatures in orange and white against a black background; Wishnets, a hot pink number with a black diamond-like overlay to resemble fishnet stockings; Hot Wired, an acid green number with a black barbed wire design along the top for a rocker-worthy edge; and Spun For You, a metallic silver number with a black spiderweb pattern.

I tried the Hot Wired design and am so smitten that I’m about to start a petition for it to be added to the permanent collection (seriously, I’m toying with the petition idea!). The Spun On You and Numbskull designs are also particularly noteworthy since they feel slightly cryptic and gothic without being too costume-y (amen to there being no pumpkins!).

After the jump, you’ll find images of me wearing the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Polish Nail Strips in Hot Wired.

Below, you’ll find how the Hot Wired design looks like on my nails. Not only do I love the in-your-face green shade, but the barbed wire really gives the strips a gritty, urban quality that’s got a punk rock vibe. Check it out:
