And You, You, You’re Gonna Love This! — Reformation Love Me Capsule Collection by Curtis Kulig
Valentine’s Day fell on such an inconvenient day this year (a Tuesday? really?) that you might have been left yearning for a more romantic, elaborate celebration — after all, it’s hard to squeeze in a full night of sweaty sheet acrobatics when you have work in the morning, carpool duty, tight deadlines, and the exhausting school drop-off routine. Rather than feel disappointed and defeated, adopt a carpe diem approach, forget about calendar dates or “special” occasions, and pick another more relaxed day to unleash your frisky side. And, to make it all the more memorable, scoop up some naughty goodies from the Reformation Love Me by Curtis Kulig Capsule Collection, which features intimates ranging from cropped camisoles to flimsy boxer shorts, along with a sex kit for bedroom play dates with your significant other (we know you’re a lady in the streets but a freak in the sheets — don’t deny it!).
The collaboration between Reformation, a design collective led by Yael Aflalo that prioritizes sustainable designs made of repurposed vintage and surplus materials, and street artist Curtis Kulig, known for the “Love Me” messages he’s spray-painted all over the New York City landscape, was a true labor of love — especially given that Aflalo and Kulig have their own romantic history.
Aside from a shared intimate history, Aflalo and Kulig embrace the same philosophies regarding environmental manners. In fact, their goal in creating the Love Me Sex Kit ( $195 at TheReformation.com) was to release the first sex kit promoting sustainability. To that end, each kit comes in a black zip-top pouch fashioned out of surplus materials, with the words “Love Me” stitched in a bood red hue along the front panel. The pouches are handmade in the Los Angeles-based Reformation studio and resemble a makeup bag so that it can be repurposed as such (or as a lingerie sack, jewelry storage sleeve, or travel case).
Each kit contains all the basics to get both consenting adults properly hot and bothered before the main event: a “Love Me” silk thong with a roomy elastic waistband (to accommodate booties of all shapes and sizes); Trojan condoms (safety first, please!); temporary tattoos with phrases like “Hurt Me” and “F**k Me” in graffiti-style lettering (which you can position in different places along your body); a silky black blindfold with the words “Never Sleep” stitched in red along the top surface and tassels on either end; and a Love Me-branded, lipstick-sized vibrator with four programmed stimulation modes, a sleek and discrete design, and a built-in USB drive underneath the removable top cap so that the device can be recharged right on your computer.
Aside from this treasure trove of reusable pleasure-providing goodies, the Reformation Love Me collection includes six intimates fashioned out of a custom “Silk Me” fabric. Our favorites include the Worth Top ($125 at TheReformation.com) pictured above at top, a silk charmeuse cami with a rounded “V” neckline and a roomy cropped cut, and the Isis Short ($125 at TheReformation.com) shown directly beneath it, a perky pair of boxer-style bottoms with an elastic waistband.
