Fenton for Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 Double Steer Cuff and Double Steer Brooch
Designer Prabal Gurung’s Fall 2012 collection explored the duality of human nature, the constant push-and-pull between evil and good, darkness and light, virtue and sin. Undulating black capes and white or black button-down blouses were adorned with solid brass or black powder-coated brass brooches, each featuring two steer skulls facing away from each other. Frocks like a black floor-length dresses with a deep V-shaped neckline, up-to-there-slit, and sheer geometric panels creating a peek-a-boo effect were paired with malleable cuffs measuring 3″ in length and 4″ in height and featuring two steer skulls positioned at the top and center of the piece, again facing each other, with four smaller steer skulls and six teardrop-shaped accents surrounding the central motifs. Though the jewelry collaboration will be available come Fall 2012, for a limited time you can get your hands on these Fenton for Prabal Gurung designs via ModaOperandi.com. The Double Steer Cuff retails for $995 while the Double Steer Brooch retails for $395.
Nicholas Kirkwood Shoes Seen At Negarin Fall 2012 Presentation
All of the shoes seen at the Negarin Fall 2012 presentation were provided by Nicholas Kirkwood, and there was a vast assortment of styles ranging from lizard and crocodile skin pumps with intricate cut-outs to classic suede pumps with hefty platforms. Though some of the designs showcased won’t be unveiled until fall, we did catch a couple of pieces from past collections — among them , the shoe/bootie hybrid pictured above (part of the Spring 2011 collection), which features an open toe, stick heel, triangular cut-outs along the sides, a ribbon-like strip with leather bars creating a cage-like effect circling the vamp area, undulating cut-outs at the vamp, and two double straps with button closures hugging the ankle.
To complement the long-sleeved leather dresses and quilted black sheath frocks seen on the Reem Acra Fall 2012 runway, models donned elbow-length gloves and the Oliver Peoples MANDE shades in Matte Black (shown last above), which feature a slight cat eye shape and matching tinted lenses.

One of the models showcasing Lauren Moffatt’s schoolgirl-inspired looks at the designer’s Fall 2012 presentation, Caroline Ventura, was also flaunting her own designs: dainty jewelry pieces from her New York-based company BRVTVS. Several of the models wore Ventura’s jewelry, including slim bracelets with cylindrical tubes threaded through a delicate chain strand and prim chain necklaces with curved tubular shapes. One of our favorites: the BRVTS Servilia Necklace ($150 at BRVTVS.com), an 18-inch, 14K gold fill chain necklace with a tube in a crescent moon shape at the center of the piece.
