Alex Woo’s Little Letters Necklace Gets Starring Role In “The Carrie Diaries”

Remember when they flashed back to the ’80s in Sex and the City 2, and we caught a glimpse of Sarah Jessica Parker in a Madonna-influenced ensembleĀ involving knee-length lace tights under a ruffled dress with a corset-like bodice, accessorized with a wide leather belt with studs and lacing at the center, a multi-layered pearl necklace, black lace arm bands, huge silver earrings and an oversize fuchsia hair bow? Well, as much as we wanted to giggle alongside SJP and company in that montage, it was nearly impossible to find these actresses believable playing twenty-something versions of their characters. After all, 30 years is a lot to disguise ā€” even when working with top-notch makeup artists and the best lighting teams in the game). Still, the scene was practically a foretold the future of the Sex and the City franchise ā€” the inevitable journey into prequel territory.

In the upcoming CW series “The Carrie Diaries,” then, viewers will become acquainted with a pre-Blahnik Bradshaw, played by Colorado-bred cutieĀ AnnaSophia Robb. In recently released photos, Robb channels a fresh-faced Carrie — down to the voluminous curly mane and the deliberately mismatched outfit (a sparkling sequined princess dress with a tulle-layered skirt, a leopard print cardigan in a kiwi green shade, a stretch rainbow stripe belt with a heart-shaped closure, and red patent leather pumps.

Now here’s the latest news on the fashion front, straight from the set: as a high school-aged Bradshaw, Robb will be wearing a dainty precursor to the nameplate “Carrie” necklace that became as pivotal to the SATC character’s wardrobe as her seemingly endless footwear collection and larger-than-life flower brooches. The necklace chosen to precede the “Carrie” necklace, then, is for theĀ Alex Woo Ā Little Letter C in 14K Yellow Gold ($678 at AlexWoo.com), part of Woo’s beloved Little Letters collection.

The daint necklace features a 16″- or 18″-long ball bead chain and a hand-sculpted, rounded, lowercase “C” pendant in solid matte finished 14k yellow gold. The letter charm measures 1/2″ in height, 1/2″ in width, and 1/8″ in thickness and features beveled edges, a sleek and smooth surface, and a miniature stamp to signal its authenticity.
