Enter To Win A Kelsey Quan Necklace At TarteCosmetics.com
If you were cavorting around Lincoln Center during the New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011 season, you might have caught glimpses of a few style mavens, editors, writers, and “It” girls rocking bright, statement-making necklaces crafted out of materials ranging from leather-, suede-, and and metallic snakeskin-covered cords to crocheted brass and silver chains, woven rope strands, natural amethyst and quartz stones, silver spike accents, hand-blown glass beads, agate stones, and swirl globe beads. Many of these chunky necklaces featured an interesting mixture of colors and materials imbued with a tribal vibe and a fun-loving Bohemian luxe aesthetic, quickly capturing the eye of show editors, guests, and fashion buyers — not to mention the eager shutterbugs stationed outside Lincoln Center during the week-long period. Word of mouth, then, proved to be pivotal to Brooklyn-based designer Kelsey Quan’s rapid ascent to indie darling, on-the-verge status. In just a year, her pieces went from debuting on the necks of NYFW guests to being stocked in boutiques like Elizabeth Charles in New York City and San Francisco, Stand Up Comedy in Portland, and Oak in New York City.
To coincide with the launch of its new limited-edition Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliners, which feature tubes embellished with designs inspired by the textile prints commonly seen in Brazil, Tarte Cosmetics unveiled a new collaborative effort with Quan. To play up the tribal motifs that will dominate both the beauty and style landscapes this season, Tarte looked to Kelsey Quan to serve as a pseudo muse for the collection, asking the trend-setting designer about her sources of inspiration, her interpretation of the tribal trend, how she’d wear the new Tarte liners, and more. And, of course, the culmination of this meeting-of-the-minds was a new giveaway opportunity.
Until March 5th at 11:59 0.m. PST, fans of the brand can log onto TarteCosmetics.com and fill a simple form for a chance to win the Kelsey Quan necklace pictured above, valued at $395.
Get into it, girls! And stay tuned for more details (and a review, of course) of the new Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliners!
