Keds x Happy Socks Collaboration — What A “Feet”!
If Twizzler’s goal is to make mouths happy, then Keds‘ newest mission is to bring this same type of jubilation to our feet. To accomplish this mission, the all-American footwear brand joined forces with four-year-old Swedish legwear company Happy Socks, best known for its vibrant colors, cheeky patterns, and exuberant spirit. In keeping with the mixing and matching of prints that’s been so popular for the past few seasons, the Keds x Happy Socks collection involves the juxtaposition of two different patterns: a polka dot design for the Keds Champion sneakers, with oversize cherry spots against a white backdrop along the front of the shoe and white spheres atop a navy blue background along the vamp and heel; and, for added contrast, a pair of limited-edition socks with red, white, and blue stripes. The socks’ and sneakers’ shared color scheme unites the two pieces, bringing a sense of harmony to the otherwise discordant pattern mixture. The result, then, is quirky and fun, slightly irreverent in a geek chic capacity that’s perfect for the librarian-flavored, prep chic deigns that will be ubiquitous in the fall season.
Available starting September 7th at Keds.com, then, each Keds x Happy Feet offering, priced at $65 and available in both women’s and mens’ sizes, incorporates both a pair of canvas sneakers and a pair of cozy socks — all packaged in a limited-edition box bearing a polka dot print and both company’s logos.
Will this be the footwear of happy shiny hipsters? You be the judge!
