Angel Jackson Beano Neon Sequin Purse – As Seen On Gossip Girl
Even the most fanatical of Gossip Girl fans has to admit that the show has pretty much jumped the shark. Bart Bass essentially came back from the dead, which is as absurd, Days Of Our Lives-ish as it gets, and Dan is prancing around with Regina, the same girl who blackmailed Serena, seduced him while adopting a faux persona, and – oh yeah! — faked a paternity test so he’d think her son Milo was his own brethren. Yes, folks, it’s about time to say “XOXO” to the show before any further ridiculousness ensues. And yet, with almost every great show being given a Sunday time slot, many of us find ourselves watching Gossip Girl on Monday nights either out of habit or out of a delusional hope that maybe, just maybe, the show will find its stride once again. Thus far, Season 6 has been pretty disappointing, but at least there are moments of style genius: the wine-colored leopard print Valentino dress Blair Waldorf wore to the Eleanor Waldorf fashion show on Episode 3 was stunning, and I was salivating over the red leather Christian Dior cowl neck top and skirt she donned earlier in the episode, and the yellow-and-white Jenny Packham gown Serena donned in the Season 6 premiere was absolutely exquisite. Even Blair’s minions have upped the ante, as evidenced by the amazing handbags they wore on Episode 3 — among them the colorful Angel Jackson Beano Horizontal Sequin Purse ($665 at ScoopNYC.com).
One of Blair’s minions paired the sequin-covered leather number with a similarly colorful ensemble that included a multi-colored tweed jacket with 3/4 sleeves, a multi-strand thread-wrapped Host + Lee cord necklace, a fuchsia skirt ,and a cream blouse with a pearl-embellished collar. Though admittedly over-the-top in terms of the amount of colors, textures, patterns and accessories mixed together, the look still felt fresh and modern — not to mention timely given that we’ve entered the season of baroque embellishments and “more is best” thinking. But whether you loved or hated the look, there was no arguing that, when you deconstructed the outfit and assessed each component individually, you were prone to find yourself yearning for quite a few of the items – particularly the accessories.
Embossed with an exotic crocodile pattern, this black leather satchel features a center panel adorned with horizontal rows of sequins in vibrant shades of turquoise, amethyst, sapphire blue, chartreuse, gold, aquamarine, and pearlescent pink, which again surface on the rectangular top flap, itself secured by a golden turn-lock latch closure. A perfect way to jazz up any ensemble, the purse’s sequined surface is also ideal for holiday dressing when metallic shades and glimmering accents are so in vogue. The Angel Jackson Beano Sequin Satchel also features a dainty chain-wrapped leather shoulder strap with a long, hourglass-shaped pad meant to sit atop the shoulder, its surface adorned with the same sequined motifs seen on the purse’s front surface.
The bag may have been worn by one of Blair’s underlings, but there’s nothing subordinate or submissive about this piece!
