Shatter Solid Walls Of Sound With The Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice Benni Boot
Here’s the story of two lovely ladies, who were busy with two very lovely blogs…. Okay, so maybe it’s not quite a Brady Bunch scenario, but the ongoing footwear collaboration between Modern Vice founders Jordan and Jensen Adoni and fashion enthusiasts Natalie and Dylana Suarez certainly reads like a family affair, with the two brothers behind the New York-based shoe brand joining forces with the Cali-bred blogging sister duo. The connection between the two? An appreciation for innovation and adventurous style. Both Natalie and Dylana Suarez fans have amassed fans with their respective street style blogs, Natalie Off Duty and Color Me Nana, with the former showcasing Natalie’s laid-back but classic Jane Birkin-ish style and the latter chronicling Dylana’s softer, more vintage-driven aesthetic. As for Jordan and Jensen Adoni, the New York-based brothers recently launched Modern Vice in hopes of filling a void in the market for polished, luxury sneakers that blurred the line between casual and formal by incorporating exotic materials ranging from oil-tanned Italian leathers to belly cut python and hand-painted pony hair, quickly expanding their range of offerings to include boots, boat shoes, and loafers. And, by teaming up with Natalie and Dylana Suarez, the Adoni brothers shows just how much they respect other up-and-coming style visionaries and trend-setters, positioning themselves as part of fashion’s new guard.
Dubbed the JETT collection, the ongoing collaboration between the Suarez sisters and Modern Vice, currently features two footwear styles: the Jett, an pointy-toed ankle boot with three straps along the vamp featuring D-ring buckles, a kiltie detail above the toe, and a vertical row of silver-toned pyramid-shaped studs along the heel counter; and the Benni, shown above, a reinvented chukka bootie with a tapered toe and small heel featuring either hand-painted fuchsia suede uppers or burnt pumpkin pony hair uppers.
Given the names of their footwear designs, it’s safe to say the Suarez girls have been rocking out to some vintage Elton John tunes — and, lest we forget, Bennie did have those electric boots!
Available for $275 at ModernVice.com, the Benni boot defies the notion that fall fashion has to be drab or dreary, instead giving you the option of being as weird and wonderful as Bennie and the Jetts. No mohair suit required.
