The Cambridge Satchel Company Saunters into the Wild with new Leopard Satchel
Pump your brakes and stop in the name of love — specifically, your love for The Cambridge Satchel Company. Using a traditional satchel silhouette boasting deep roots in British fashion history, this London-based brand continuously modernizes this core design via the use of interesting colors, patterns, and details. In the last two years, we’ve seen The Cambridge Satchel company release neon versions of the satchel, color-blocked numbers, and even fashion-forward pieces with black-and-white checkerboard or punk-flavored tartan prints. Its latest handbag treat is the limited-edition Leopard Satchel ($240 at CambridgeSatchelCompany.com), shown above, a playful twist on their classic black satchel that incorporates a leopard print front pocket made from Italian hair-on-calf leather.
Animal prints can be tricky motifs to master since they tend to read as either totally glamorous or hideously gaudy. Fortunately, The Cambridge Satchel Company managed to incorporate the wild feline motif with panache by integrating it only into that front pocket and, furthermore, adding a textural quality to the design via the use of hair calf.
This 11″ satchel comes with an adjustable strap so that you can fling it across your torso and wear it as a cross-body or shorten it and rock it as a shoulder bag. Only 50 of these bags were produced in total so snatch one up while you can by visiting the brand’s Covent Garden shop in London or logging onto CambridgeSatchelCompany.com.
