Recap of Walgreen’s Union Square Grand Re-Opening Celebration with SheaMoisture

Yesterday, I spent the afternoon with the SheaMoisture team at the Walgreen’s in Union Square (located at 145th 4th Avenue, between 14th Street and 13th Street). The store was celebrating its grand re-opening and, as part of the celebration, representatives from different vendors were on hand to greet customers, teach them about their various products, and offer them coupons, special discounts, and samples. SheaMoisture invited me to swing by and live tweet throughout the opening, and I was beyond honored and happy to do so since I’m such a huge fan of the brand’s all-natural, cruelty-free products, which incorporate certified organic ingredients.

Pictured above is the SheaMoisture station on the second floor of the Walgreen’s store. As you can see, the team spruced it up, displaying a sign that retold the brand’s history, showcasing some popular products (among them the Yucca & Baobab Anti-Breakage Masque, the Organic Raw Shea Butter & Argan Oil Repair & Transition Kit, the Coconut & Hibiscus Hand Cream, and the Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque), and handing out pamphlets with details about the brand’s various lines and a coupon. And that wasn’t all: throughout the store’s re-opening celebration (taking place yesterday as well as today), customers with a Walgreen’s Rewards Card enjoyed additional savings so that, for each SheaMoisture product they purchased, they’d get a second one at half off. Plus, many of the SheaMoisture products on the shelf had tags hanging from their bottles’ necks, revealing yet another coupon: this time for $2.00 off any item from the Bath & Body line with the purchase of a hair care product. Since the celebration continues throughout the day today, I really recommend that all of you in the NYC area swing by and take advantage of all these great deals!

In between tweeting, Instagramming photos, and chatting with customers, I snapped a few photos so, of course, I wanted to share those with you!

First, take a look at the SheaMoisture display table:

Next, meet the fabulous Nicole, who handles special events for SheaMoisture and Nubian Heritage (and who can rock a pink lip like nobody’s business!):

Here’s me at the SheaMoisture station, rocking my dark ruby red turban and Torn by Ronny Kobo dress.

Here’s another shot of yours truly:

And, since no recap post would ever be complete without mentioning shoes, check out the beautiful booties I was wearing. They’re from BCBGMAXAZRIA, and I absolutely adore them!
