Charlie Brown, Lucy, Sally, Linus, Peppermint Patty and Pig Pen will all be flying high this weekend —presumably in the “Sopwith Camel” fighter plane (otherwise known as a red doghouse) piloted by World War I Flying Ace (a.k.a. Snoopy) — as the computer-animated The Peanuts Movie hits theaters. Since Charlie Brown loves “hellos” — he once said, “Goodbyes make my throat hurt… I need more hellos” — Lacoste is greeting him wand his friends with a limited-edition Peanuts collection, consisting of apparel featuring some of the franchise’s most memorable characters.

For women, there are three tops available — all classic silhouettes that feature the iconic alligator logo interacting with a beloved Peanuts character. The Lacoste “Peanuts” Lucy Polo ($125 at Lacoste.com), shown at top, features an embroidered illustration of Lucy sporting a visor and holding a tennis racket in one hand, while bouncing a tennis ball with the other, presumably ready to serve her match opponent: the Lacoste gator (who, of course, seems more interested in eating the ball!).  The same image graces the cozy 100% cotton Lacoste “Peanuts” Lucy Sweatshirt ($145 at Lacoste.com) shown second from top, which is available in a classic navy color.

Snoopy fans, meanwhile, will swoon over the Lacoste “Peanuts” Snoopy Polo ($125 at Lacoste.com), a traditional cotton shirt featuring an image of the beloved beagle sitting atop his red doghouse, his gaze directed toward the sky in keeping with his “Keep Looking Up.. That’s The Secret of Life” ethos. To add a bit of mischief to the situation, however, Snoopy is shown holding a fishing pole while the Lacoste gator’s head peeks out from within the dog house as if preparing to chomp on the bait.

These limited-edition designs, then, stay true to Lacoste’s preppy-chic heritage while also embracing the mythology and celebrating the whimsy that made Charles Schulz’s characters an inextricable part of American culture.
