Disney By Patterson J. Kincaid Collection Celebrates The “Prince Of The Forest”

Slouchy is the name of the Patterson J. Kincaid game, with vintage-flavored, no-fuss blouses, sweaters, dresses, tanks, and tunics that hang loosely on the body, appearing slightly boyish  — well, save for the pieces' understated feminine details, which include oversize pockets, delicate ruching at the sleeve cuffs, unexpected side slits, asymmetrical waistlines, and rounded V-shaped necklines. Now, the vintage brand has collaborated with Disney on a limited-edition collection of tanks featuring one of the most beloved tales in Disney's animated film canon: Bambi.

The five-piece collection of tanks, tees and sweatshirts feature vintage illustrations of classic characters and scenes from the original 1942 film (yes, the one that made so many of us shed tears over those mean hunters!).  Two thistle tee designs are available: first, there's "Baby Bambi" (pictured at top), a heather gray jersey number with an image of the most beloved deer in American pop culture; and "Patch Bambi" (pictured last from top), a weathered, navy-colored tee with a landscape-like, watercolor-esque sketch of a young Bambi in the forest, orange and yellow autumn leaves trickling down to his feet, the sky behind him turning purple at twilight. The same illustration featured in the "Baby Bambi" tee is also emblazoned across the "Baby Bambi" pullover (pictured fourth), a 100% cotton, oatmeal-colored, vintage French terry sweatshirt with a scoop neckline and a slightly athletic cut.

If you think the film's most memorable scenes involve the fawn's vivacious crew of playmates (the scene where he learns how to ice skate? Classic!), you'll appreciate the baseball-flavored "Forest Friends" tee, which features 3/4-length, black raglan sleeves, a rounded black neckline, and pencil-like sketches of an adolescent Bambi alongside the adorably wide-eyed skunk Flower and the foot-tapping rabbit Thumper along the white chest area.

Those smitten with Thumper's own thicket-appropriate tap dance (i.e. the relentless foot thumping that earned him his nickname) will swoon over the charming "Thumper" tank, a 100% combed ring spun cotton tank with a deep U-shaped neckline and curved bottom edges that slope a bit lower at the center for a more laid-back feel. The tank features a colorful image of the chubby-cheeked bunny standing amid a flower patch, and you can practically imagine him uttering the words, "Eating greens is a special treat. It makes long ears and great big feet. But it sure is awful stuff to eat."

The Disney by Patterson J. Kincaid collection ships in June, but you can pre-order online now (check out the details below), so get to thumpin' those little fingers on your keyboard!

Disney by Patterson J. Kincaid "Baby Bambi" Tee, $98; Disney by Patterson J. Kincaid "Thumper" Tank, $40; Disney by Patterson J. Kincaid "Forest Friends" Raglan Tee, $198; Disney by Patterson J. Kincaid "Baby Bambi" Pullover, $118; and Disney by Patterson J. Kincaid "Patch Bambi" Tee, $98. All available for pre-order at Disney.PattersonJKincaid.com

MAC Cosmetics Venomous Villains Collection Pt II — Evil Queen And Maleficent

MAC-Venomous-Villains-evil-queen-products

A couple of days ago, I showed you ladies the first half of MAC's Venomous Villains collection, but trust me wen I say this: I saved the best for last. In addition to the two Disney villains mentioned in the previous post (Cruella De Vil of 101 Dalmatians and Dr. Facilier of The Princess and the Frog), the Venomous Villains collection immortalizes two of the most recognizable female scoundrels in animated movie history: Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs' Evil Queen and Sleeping Beauty's Maleficent.

Both mini-collections explore the darker, more savage and id-driven, Hobbesian nature of womankind, with lilac, purple, midnight blue, forest green, and smoky plum colors that read as sinister and cold, yet manage to be as beguiling as the cursed spindle that sent Aurora into a century-long sleep (luckily, the makeup doesn't have the narcotic side effects!).

Just remember: you can take some style tips from these evil villains, but it's still better to play nice!

Keep reading for more on these two mini-collections, product photos and swatches, and more.

MAC Venomous Villains Collection Pt. I — Cruella De Vil And Dr. Facilier

MAC-Venomous-Villains-group-shot

All the most exciting activities require at least two players, right? Would you rather play solitaire or chat with friends over a heated round of poker? Dribble a basketball by yourself or find a fierce pick-up game? Sway your hips in a darkly lit corner of the club or glide onto the dance floor with a cologne-covered, firm-chested salsa partner? The folks at MAC Cosmetics know that one is the loneliest number — which is why they've invited collaborations with some of the most exciting fashion and jewelry designers, animation houses, illustrators, and toy manufacturers. This year alone, they've released limited-edition collections created alongside the likes of Liberty of London and Alice + Olivia.

But MAC's most exciting collaboration in years (and yes, I'm even counting the Hello Kitty and Barbie collections) is its new Venomous Villains collection, which pays homage to the scheming, conniving, spell-casting, envious, greedy scoundrels in some of Disney's most beloved animated films. In particular, this limited-edition collection nods to Cruella De Vil, the puppy-squashing ice queen of Walt Disney's 101 Dalmatians); the mirror-loving, poisoned apple-dispensing Evil Queen of Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs fame; the manipulative, top hat-wearing Dr. Facilier of The Princess And The Frog; and Maleficent of Sleeping Beauty, the horned evil fairy who cursed Aurora to die when she touches a spinning wheel's spindle before her sixteenth birthday. I love most of the villains chosen, though I do admit I would've preferred a classic evil genius like Ursula from The Little Mermaid over Dr. Facilier. But Cruella and Maleficent were particularly fun choices for me.

The collection's packaging is exquisite — the character depictions are completely true to their original incarnations, and yet they feel modern, with clean lines and vivid colors updating each figure emblazoned across lip gloss an lipstick tubes or stamped on clear eyeshadow lid cases. You literally feel like a giddy child as you twist open every lipstick tube or snap open every beauty powder compact — it's the kind of enthusiasm a five-year-old feels when he opens his new pencil case or lunchbox for the very first time.

In terms of the color collections themselves, each of the four mini collections inside the Venomous Villains umbrella feature hues that correspond with the fairy tale in question. The best part: having experimented with the products in all the collections, it's hard for me to pick one favorite. If the lipsticks in one collection had me salivating like forbidden pieces of fruit, the eye shadows in another called for me to go up a mysterious staircase, and the pigments in another made me want to harmonize with a trumpet-playing gator. Bottom line: every story has its very own happy ending.

Today, we'll focus on the Cruella de Vil and Dr. Facilier color collections. Below, you'll find in-depth descriptions of each collection and the products therein, images of all the pieces in these collections, swatches, and much more.  Being bad never looked this good!

Keep reading after the jump to check out these collections!

Fashion and Jewelry Straight From The “Sex and The City 2″ Movie

 Kimberly-mcdonald-hoops

Are you counting down the days 'til you can see Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte cavorting through the Abu Dhabi desert? Well, here's a sneak peak at some of the fashions you'll see in the much-anticipated Sex and the City 2 movie. Sure, you've seen the white Halston Heritage cocktail dress Carrie wears on the movie poster, but aren't you itching to see more? Well, here are a few gems for you!

Pictured above are two of the Kimberly McDonald earrings you'll see Carrie wear in the flick. Pictured at top is a pair of drop earrings featuring four asymmetrical geode stones (if you're wondering, these are volcanic rock cavities which often contain crystal formations, chalcedony deposits or concentric banding along their interior). The geode stones in these earrings are then set in 18k white gold and adorned with small diamonds along each stone's perimeter. Dynamite, right?

And, since Carrie Bradshaw loves hoop earrings, we knew she'd dazzle us with her latest pair — and she didn't disappoint. Dressing up the hoop silhouette, Carrie wears a glamorous pair of Kimberly McDonald "Pathway" rose-cut diamond and platinum hoop earrings (pictured third from top). Each diamond is like a tiny oasis, quenching our thirst for "hello, lover"-worthy style.

But what about the rest of the SATC ladies? Well, here's a tidbit for all you Charlotte lovers: in one scene of the movie, the ever-prim Upper East Sider will be carrying a roomy Nancy Gonzalez crocodile tote (pictured second from top) in a lovely seafoam green color with two leaf-like details dangling from the front.

Don't these make you even more excited to watch the film?

Kimberly McDonald 4 Drop Petite Geode & Diamond Earrings in 18k white gold, $27,150; Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile East West Tote in Green, $3380; and Kimberly McDonald Signature “Pathway” rose cut diamond and platinum hoop earrings, $46,400. All available at Bergdorf Goodman.

Just a few weeks ago, I showed you gals some brand new SATC-themed tees from Mighty Fine. And, of course, more designs continue to be unveiled as the film's May 29th opening date approaches. If you want a cheekier option, check out the shoegasmic "That's the Way I Like It" and "Love Hangover" styles pictured above. I personally love the psychedelic '70s font used in the "That's the Way I Like It" tee — it's like Scooby Doo's Mystery Van lives inside a peep-toe bootie. And, of course, you can celebrate Carrie's shoe fetish with the "Love Hangover" style, which is emblazoned with a silhouette of a sky-high pump featuring a rhinestone-studded,  heart-shaped motif along the toe.

If you prefer a more old-school style (and want to flaunt your similarities to one of the four styleketeers, you can pick from among the "I'm A Charlotte," "I'm A Samantha," "I'm A Miranda," and "I'm A Carrie" styles pictured below.
